I’ve been a SiriusXM subscriber since it was XM and they launched “Rock” and “Roll”, their first 2 satellites, into space – so all in all, a long time. Typically, I listen to Octane, BPM, Utopia, 80s on 8, 90s on 9, and Turbo.
Typically I can’t complain too much about the playlists or the on-air radio hosts, except for one.
Jose Mangin – the primary DJ on Octane and Liquid Metal.
This past weekend, he was on-site at Welcome to Rockville, an annual multi-day festival that takes place in Daytona FL. While listening to Octane today, I noticed a marked improvement in track selection, and far less repetition. I also noticed one thing missing – Jose. Normally the music is background music so when the DJs come on and do chatter between songs, I don’t always catch what they say – but I overheard Jesea Lee mention that Shannon Gunz, Caity Babs, and Jose Mangin are travelling back to the studios from their weekend in Daytona hosting Welcome to Rockville, which I’m sure was amazing.
I just have to say, if anyone from SiriusXM is reading this, keep Jose on Liquid Metal and give Erica and Jesea more opportunity to host. I get it, he built the channels, the fan base, he’s got a personality – and Jose – we get it, you can execute a vocal fry. We know this because you do it at every opportunity you can. It’s not cool, it’s fucking annoying. Caity Babs and Shannon Gunz rock, love what ya’ll ladies do.
But Jose – 👏dial👏it👏back👏we👏don’t👏have👏to👏hear👏your👏vocal👏fry👏every👏time👏you👏talk👏on-air. Okay?
